An expert system identifies a category of computer programs which, after being properly instructed, are able to deduce new information from a set of information of departure.

As with the human expert, the expert system can operate on data quality and incomplete. It can fact use shapes of reasoning approximated, through techniques probabilistic or doing recourse to so-called " fuzzy logic ", rendered often as logic nuanced, a type of logic multi values.
